Longthorpe Tower is the surviving part of a 14th century three storey medieval fortified Manor House, here in Peterborough. It contains the finest set of medieval wall paintings in a domestic setting in Western Europe, giving a rare insight into the medieval mind. The Tower is open for pre-booked 1 hour tours on most Saturdays and Sundays until 5 November, 10am – 4.30pm (last admission is 3.30pm).
The guided tours are led by our team of enthusiastic and experienced volunteers, who have a passion for the history of the Tower and bring its wall paintings to life. Longthorpe Tower is cared for by English Heritage and locally managed by Nene Park Trust.
