Hope into Action’s Community Connect is a small pilot project with a big vision. Using the experience we have developed over the last 15 years, we want to plant and grow a new approach to providing relational intervention to individuals who are at risk of homelessness. It will extend Hope into Action’s tried and tested relational, church based model to those who do not live in our accommodation. It is part of our strategic commitment to invest in new models which can empower even more churches to end homelessness.

The primary role of the Local Coordinator is to publicise, raise awareness and build an appetite for this new project. You will recruit, train and support volunteer Community Connectors in your location who will meet regularly with Community Members who are at risk of homelessness. There will be a partnership with a local church who run a regular meal or social space which will provide a social setting for Connectors and Members to meet.

You will ensure that we establish and grow the scheme in line with Hope into Action’s commitment to combine spiritual passion with professional excellence. This will involve extensive liaison with the local Hope into Action team and close working with the National Lead. It will also involve strong liaison with local churches, the local authority and other homeless agencies to ensure success.

Salary: £20,928 per annum (£34,880 FTE)
