Tuesdays till Two - 23rd July Roger Stimson (Violin)
Tuesdays Till Two starts a new season on 23rd July. In this concert Roger, violin, and Fergus, piano, will be bringing us three third violin sonatas all by composers with similar initials: Johann Sebastian Bach, Joseph Bologne, and Johannes Brahms. Joseph Bologne, also known as the Chevalier de St Georges, is the first person of African descent to be remembered as a classical composer and was also a champion fencer, violin virtuoso, and the conductor of the leading symphony orchestra in Paris of the time.
When: Tuesday 23rd July
Where: St Johns Church, Church Street, Peterborough, PE1 1XB
As usual the café will be open from noon, serving a range of hot drinks and home-made quiche, cakes, scones etc. There will be several new members to the pop-up café team, and this year all profits from the café will go towards funding our programme of future events.
The concert will begin promptly at 1pm. Admission is free, but those who are able to afford it are asked to make a donation. The suggested amount is £5.
